Best Edges for Small Kitchens

Everyone has a personal preference when it comes to style, and countertop edges can transform the entire style of a kitchen. From very simplistic to ornate edges, your kitchen may be best suited for a particular style to create the appearance of a roomier area with more space.

Very ornate edges draw the eyes attention and will be the main focal point of a small kitchen taking away from other features. These types of edges are best suited for larger kitchens as they also limit the usable surface area of counter space.

Your best bet with a small kitchen is to go simple. Eased edges are a perfect choice! The smoothed out corners do not distract from other design elements and complement all kitchen interior design styles. You can opt for either a single or double eased edge depending on personal style.

If eased edges are too plain for you, another great option is a beveled edge.
Beveled edges create a very sharp and modern look. These are great for small areas and are used for table tops, fire place mantels and window ledges as well as kitchen countertops. They also go with almost any modern interior design and provide optimal surface area.

These two choices are also easy to clean because they lack any grooves that collect dirt and residue.

Silestone is trending!

We have another project this week using Silestone Quartz! This one uses Silestone Lusso, which has a natural looking pattern and grain similar to certain exotic marbles. Our client decided on an 'ogee' edge which is a traditional decorative element and looks great in modern Gothic homes.

Before & After - Mitered Edges

Adding a 'mitered edge' is a great way to visually enhance your countertop or table. Mitered edges give the appearance of a thicker piece of stone. In the photos below, you can see that the stone is laid on top of the plywood and then mitered edges are affixed to cover the plywood. This gives the counter the appearance of being a thick & solid single piece of stone.

We polish all the mitered edges to seamlessly come together with the counter top. The edges are cut at 45 degree angles and attached at each corner.

Carrara Grigio Kitchen Counters and Island

This is an up-close look at our current work in progress installation of Carrara Grigio Quartz.
The counter tops were just installed and fit perfectly into space. We'll be installing the backsplash next which will seamlessly match the counters.

Beautiful Kitchen Counters

Here are some images from our latest counter top install. We installed the white quartz stone counters for the island and sink counter. The sink counter features cut drain board notches for eliminating water spills while drying dishes.

Quartz Bar Top and Ledge at B2 Harlem

We recently had the honor of completing a bar top and ledge at the new restaurant, B2Harlem located in Harlem, New York. The counter is made from quartz stone and features a natural marble design. We had the opportunity to work with renowned interior designer Mikel Welch of the Steve Harvey Show on this project. The entire restaurant looks exquisite and are proud to be a part of it.
